No sharing to socials on this one. Just my thoughts on what’s happening.
Having travelled through Russia on the trans-siberian railway, I’ve experienced first hand what the majority of Russians are like and we loved visiting places like Moscow and Yekaterinburg.
The people were really nice, and we were surprised just how many people in Moscow, hated Putin. Now that he’s started a war, even the people of Russia are protesting.
What’s happening with Ukraine is unbelievable, I’m lost for words.
Since Ukraine achieved independence in 1991, as the Soviet Union collapsed, it has gradually veered to the West – both the EU and Nato.
Russia’s leader aims to reverse that, seeing the fall of the Soviet Union as the “disintegration of historical Russia”.
So essentially, trying to claim back Ukraine and stop it entering Nato.
I’m hopeful that peace will follow soon, and my thoughts and prayers are with all of my Ukraine and Russian co-workers (and everyone else) who are in the midst of everything and impacted in a negative way.
